2. An 11-month old baby presents with high fever. On examination, the child appears dehydrated with several ulcers on its lips and tongue. The infant has been refusing to eat for the past 2 weeks.

 

3. A 6-month old boy arrives in casualty with fever and his mother complains of poor feeding. On examination, the doctor identifies neck stiffness and a purpuric rash.

 

4. A 16-year old boy presents to its GP with a sore throat, fever and tiredness following a school trip. Examination revealed enlarged cervical lymph nodes and splenomegaly. The blood film further revealed lymphocytosis and atypical lymphocytes.

 

5. A 3-year old toddler presents with a persistent cough (>2weeks). The child experienced fever one week before the coughing began. The mother is worried that her child may have pneumonia.
